13 and Down

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you are all having a lovely week, it is officially spring time and the rain is everywhere so it seems.

One day it's raining, the next I am wearing a dress.

Anywhoo's
Arlina Rose Photography and I did these shots in December at Ruby Hill Winery.

Every piece in this outfit cost less than $12.00!

Jacket: Vintage $6.00 @ Goodwill
Jeans: Cello Jeans $13 @ Ross

I love this jackets stellar shoulder pads!

Tie Blouse: $3.00 @ Goodwill

Look at the awesome buttons!! One of the features that drew me into this jacket!
I adored the roped texture that surrounded the white polished stone.

Steve Madden Heels: NEW $7.00 @ Goodwill

Hat: Swap-meet $6.00

What Inspired This Look?

From this outfit you can probably tell that I am in love with Goodwill.
Although this is true I find them to be a wee bit pricey when it comes to thrift stores.
This being said, I usually only go when they are having 50% off Apparel sales.

Little Miss Katniss

Today I brought out my inner 'Katniss' and this is what I would wear to 'Reaping Day'

-x-

I was feeling a lot better today and wanted to take advantage of that so here is a post!
(Like I said last post, I will usually only do posts Mondays or Wednesdays)

Today is special!
1. I feel pretty good (which is a first for a while)
2. The Hunger Games comes out tonight!

Skirt: vintage $1.50 (Thrifted @ Savers)
Olive Tank: randomly appeared in my closet a year ago (Forever 21)

Of course I wore a Olive Green Tank to represent Katniss, since she ROCKS that color throughout the novels.

Shoes: My Roommates (Target Mossimo)

When I read The Hunger Games I imagined this soft lighting a eerie fairytale of horror type look during 'Reaping Day'

Necklaces: Forever 21 & Nordstrom

Katniss had a braid, but I opted for 3 bun twists!

Thank you all for being so understanding as I deal with my health!
xoxo

Threads of Morocco

Hello Everyone,
Apologies on my lack of posting lately.

For now my posting will be on either Mondays or Wednesdays once a week.
I am dealing with some health issues and that combined with school makes it difficult to do daily posts.
---------
With that being said I am going to share some more from my trip to LA with my Mom!

The lobby of our hotel was decorated in lavish colors, design, and furniture.

While thrifting I came across this gorgeous silk beaded dress and thought it looked gorgeous with the decor.

Dress: $4

Shoes: Carlos Santana {found on clearance at Macy's}

The Beautiful Door to our Room!

Like I said in my past post, this hotel was a dream, it was gorgeous!
If you are ever in LA and need a place to stay definitely check out The Figueroa Hotel.
Let them know little miss Kayla from Hereandwow sent you :)

Before I bid adieu I wanted to let you all know of a contest I am entered in.
It is with Threadflip on Facebook, and all you have to do is click here
and vote for my blog!

{The picture used has not been shared on here yet, so its a little sneak preview of a photo shoot I did last fall!}

Dress for Four

So last weekend my mother came to visit and we spent the weekend in Los Angeles.

What did we do you ask?
Thrifted!!

I made a list of some Thrift Stores all located near each other in LA and we spent hours looking through the racks! (so much fun)

This blue dress (originally from Forever 21) cost me $4!

I absolutely loved the fabric used and the color!
Im still in shock that it was only $4!

We found such a awesome hotel in Los Angeles!
It was so beautiful, I wanted to make it my apartment, the decor was absolutely stunning!

The first night we experienced a luxurious dinner at Flemings.
1. The service was fantastic
2. They had a GF menu (yayyayayya!)
3. Their 'small platters' are definitely enough food for one person

4. This was a 'virgin' drink.

It was such a great day/night spent with my momma :)

Thrifting for the Win!

{Men} It's all in the eyes

First Monday of March = Men's Wear Monday!

As the sun starts to make its way back into existence I have heard eavesdropped some conversations take place regarding men and sunglasses, or any glasses for that matter.

Some say it is not okay to wear sunglasses, especially if they are high quality
(concerns about looking cocky/stupid)
Others realize the sun is bright.. and decide 'I will wear the sunglasses no matter the cost or what they look like.'

So lets start out with dos and don'ts
(sorry if I trash your favorite pair)

Do:

1.Everyday Wear Glasses
It probably helps that this man is de-lic-ious  attractive.
But splurge on a good pair of glasses if you don't have 20/20.
If you are a 'hipster' just go buy a clear pair for cheap somewhere.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE FRAME
Some frame shapes will not look good on your face. I know Ray-bans are in right now, but if they don't look good on you it is a waste! Keep trying on pairs until you find the best.
(ask girls in the store what they think; you may get a date out of it)

2. Normal Black/Brown Sunglasses
Find what color looks best on you, there are browns, blacks, silver, tan, multi-safari, and the list goes on.

Places to buy/consider for sunglasses that won't break the bank:
Warby Parker (both optical and sun wear)

If you already know what looks great check out eBay!

Don't:

1. Polarized/Colored Lens Sunglasses
These just creep me out, in the sun I can't tell where you are looking.
They also just don't look good.
So therefore, you should not wear them. :)

2. White Rimmed Sunglasses

These just look super tacky to me; unless you are Willy Wonka (and even then...) you should not be wearing white rimmed sunglasses. They scream cheap!

So fellas:
I would say, wear your accessories with pride. If the sun is out I guarantee you will look 100% better with sunglasses than squinting without.... especially if you run into a tree.

Ladies: I would say stick to these tips as well.
Women are a lot more open to wearing eyewear.
You can either go sexy  sophisticated librarian or beach babe.
